About Her Shakti
Women remain underrepresented at every level of leadership. Representation drops sharply at the first promotion and keeps declining at senior levels. Women of color face an even steeper drop.
Her Shakti is grounded in women’s leadership, equity, and long-term cultural change. It exists to build the courage and skill to speak up, and to make the case that organizations, not just individuals, have to change.
What “Shakti” means
Shakti is a Sanskrit word that literally means power and energy.
In its deeper meaning, Shakti refers to feminine energy. Not as a gender, but as a distinct mode of intelligence. In leadership, Shakti refers to intuition, creativity and the ability to operate from a state of being, not just constant doing.
Modern leadership systems have historically privileged left-brain traits: logic, speed, control, dominance. Those traits were then gendered and attributed to men.
Her Shakti exists to challenge gender essentialism and redefine what leadership looks like.

Founded by Neeta Jain
Her Shakti began during an earlier chapter of Neeta Jain’s work, focused on women’s health and well-being, and has evolved toward leadership, equity, and systems change.
Neeta Jain is an immigrant mother, a leadership advisor, and a keynote speaker. Her work centers on moral intelligence and moral courage in leadership: what it takes to make the right call, and to say it out loud, when saying it costs something. She spent fourteen years inside technology organizations before she spent any time on stages, which is where she learned what staying quiet costs.
Neeta is a TEDx speaker, where her talk invites audiences to rethink leadership paradigms. Watch the talk.

Her Shakti has partnered with Project Nanhi Kali, whose mission is to ensure every underprivileged girl child in India gets her right to education and dignity.
Through this partnership, Her Shakti supports the education of a few Nanhi Kali girls for a full year.
Her Shakti is grateful for the chance to make a difference for these girls, who are, without question, the future.
